According to the 1980 UNESCO recommendations on the condition of the artist, member states are required to „recognize the importance of the role played by the artist in any society, to encourage creative expression and to ensure fair treatment of professional artists, developing appropriate measures to address their particular situation.”
At the moment, there is no legal protection for the artists in Romania and this affects them especially now, during #covid19. How have other European countries solved this problem?
\u25aa\ufe0f Journalist Matei Martin will discuss about the legal status of the independent sector with:

\u25aa\ufe0f Isabelle L\u00e9vy (Head of the Employment unit for Performing Arts at the French Ministry of Culture)
\u25aa\ufe0f Marta Mi\u0142oszewska, Polish theatre director and lecturer, a founder member of The Directors\u2019 Guild of Poland (Gildia Re\u017cyser\u00f3w Polskich, https:\/\/polishdirectors.com\/en\/<\/a>) – a trade union of Polish directors, negotiating with the Polish government the law regarding the status of artist.
EUNIC MIXERS is a series of live, online discussions about the adaptations of the cultural sector to the changes during the pandemic, with guests from European countries, represented by the cultural institutes from the EUNIC Romania network, together with Romanian cultural practitioners.
