My Voice, My Stage: An Actor-Specific Theatre Lab with Jitka Vrbková

OPEN CALL TO JITKA VRBKOVÁ’S INCUBATOR LAB

The essential details:

  • Who is it for: young people with Down Syndrome or other learning disabilities (aged 16+).
  • When: 5, 6, and 7 September (10:00 – 15:00). *Lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00.

IMPORTANT! Lunch is not provided. However, participants will have access to water, tea, coffee, juice and light snacks for the whole programme.

  • Where: Czech Centre Bucharest  (str. Ion Ghica 11, groundfloor , Bucharest (open to participants from all over the country).

IMPORTANT! You must present your ID card upon entry.

  • Language: English, with Romanian translation provided.
  • Cost: Free.

About the workshop:

The Czech Centre and Supereroi printre noi invites you to join a workshop on theatre and movement led by Jitka Vrbková, founder and artistic director of Aldente Theatre.

Jitka’s practice is based on the belief that every person has unexpected abilities that can inspire others. This workshop is an opportunity to discover your own voice and share your view of the world with others.

  • You can move, speak and be as you are.
  • No previous experience is required. You can take part regardless of the level of support you usually need.
  • Here you can be completely yourself. No pressure or obligations.
  • To allow for as much freedom and independence as possible, the support persons will not enter the room during the working sessions. We will have volunteers if you need help.
  • Jitka has a lot of experience. She worked a lot with actors and authors with Down syndrome.
  • She will guide and support you during the workshop.
  • You will be in a safe and welcoming environment.
