Hard of hearing, raised in a family with deaf parents and a mother of two deaf children, Andreea Darie is a lawyer by profession and an active advocate for the rights of the deaf community, with particular emphasis on children’s rights and equal access to education, information, and culture.

Romanian Sign Language is a natural part of her life and identity, and her passion for the arts has turned her into a means of making culture more accessible. Andreea interprets music and films into RSL, interpreted into RSL at Eurovision 2026, and she is part of a team dedicated to making theatre performances and other cultural events accessible to deaf audiences.

Through her work, she aims to contribute to a society in which deaf people can access culture and experience art authentically, through their own language.
