According to the 1980 UNESCO recommendations on the condition of the artist, member states are required to “recognize the importance of the role played by the artist in any society, to encourage creative expression and to ensure fair treatment of professional artists, developing appropriate measures to address their particular situation.”
At the moment, there is no legal protection for the artists in Romania and this affects them especially now, during #covid19. How have other European countries solved this problem?

▪️ Marta Miłoszewska, Polish theatre director and lecturer, a founder member of The Directors’ Guild of Poland (Gildia Reżyserów Polskich, https://polishdirectors.com/en/) – a trade union of Polish directors, negotiating with the Polish government the law regarding the status of artist.
